Dr. Sharker Md. Numan is a Professor at the School of Science and Technology of Bangladesh Open University (BOU), Bangladesh. Dr. Numan is a physician by profession, passed MBBS from Sher-E-Bangla Medical College, Barisal under the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh in 1993. He completed a Master of Sciences in Epidemiology in 2005 from the University Putra Malaysia, Malaysia. He has also completed two professional programmes a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) from BOU and an OER-based eLearning programme from CEMCA in 2014. He joined Bangladesh Open University (BOU) in October 1997 as a Lecturer. He played a significant role in launching the Post-Basic Bachelor in Nursing program, Master of Public Health Program, Master of Disability Management and Rehabilitation Program, and Post-Graduate Diploma in Medical Ultrasound Program at Bangladesh Open University through distance and blended mode. He has more than 31 publications with 03 books at the university level and deliberations at several international conferences.
