Prof. Thomas Kaydor, Jr. is a Political Scientist and Development Specialist. He is an Assistant Professor of Democratic Governance, International Relations, and Diplomacy at the IBB Graduate School of International Studies, and the Academic Coordinator for the University of Liberia Graduate Studies and Research Program.
Tom Kaydor is a PhD Candidate in International Development and Diplomacy (with Security Aspects) in the Department of Government and European Studies at the New University in Slovenia, Central Europe. He holds a Master of Public Policy (MPP) with distinction in Development Policy and Practice from the Australian National University; a Master of Arts in International Relations (Highest Honor), and a Bachelor of Arts (Magna Cum Laude) from the University of Liberia respectively. He also earned several professional diplomas and certificates including a Diploma in Strategic Planning from Galilee College, Israel, a post-graduate Certificate in Leading Economic Growth from the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, and a Certificate in Human Rights and Results Based Management from the UN System Staff College in Turin, Italy.
Prof. Kaydor comes with vast experience from the United Nations as former UN Coordination Adviser on Common Services, UNDP Ethiopia, former UN Coordination Analyst, UNDP Liberia, and former Volunteer Engagement Specialist (National Consultant), UNICEF Liberia. Tom also brings on board a host of experience from the Public Sector. He is Liberia’s former Deputy Foreign Minister for International Corporations and Economic Integration, a post in which he served as Liberia’s Lead Negotiator at the eight rounds of Intergovernmental Negotiations on the Post-2015 Development Agenda (the SDGs), and former Assistant Foreign Minister for Africa, Asia, and the Pacific. Prof. Kaydor is a prolific researcher and a published author.
