Violet Nabwire Opata is an Associate Professor of Educational Communication and Technology, and the Coordinator of Centre of Teacher Education at Moi University, School of Education. She holds Ph.D and MPhil degrees respectively in Education, from Moi University, and a B.Ed degree from Kenyatta University, Kenya.
Professor has over 25 years of working in the university administration and academics. She served as an Associate Dean in School of Education, and a Project Manager in a Partnership Programme of Moi University and Flemish universities in Belgium Royal Government through Institutional University Cooperation (IUC) –VLIR.
Professor is currently engaged in: Research, Curriculum development and implementation, student’s mentorship & Advisement, external and internal examiner,
consultancy, outreach services, Student Assessment, monitoring and evaluation, and editor of both local and international peer reviewed and referred journals. Professor has published book chapters/book, several paper articles in the refereed and peer reviewed journals, developed e-Case, and supervised to completion over 10 Ph.D students and over 20 Masters in Education students.
She is affiliated to several institutions including: Kenya National Academy of Science (KNAS); Nelson Mandela University (NMU); University of Kwazulu-Natal; Dar ES
Salaam University; Commissioner of University Education (CUE); National Research Fund (NRF) Kenya; Partnership of African Social and Governance Research (PASGR), Pedagogical leadership (Pedal); and Community Schools and Colleges. Professor has attended, participated, and presented papers in several conferences/workshops both locally and internationally. Her research interest is in:
Curriculum development and implementation; Pedagogical Strategies; Curriculum evaluation, Educational technologies and Innovations in education; HIV/AIDS education; and Early childhood Education. Professor brings on board, her expertise in:
research; project development and management; Curriculum development, implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation; and Consultancy skills in Pedagogies.
