I am Nandini Jagannarayan, an Assistant Professor at Ramniranjan Jhunjhunwala College, Mumbai, with over 18 years of teaching and research experience in Economics, Finance, and Management. I hold a PhD in Economics from Somaiya Vidyavihar University, an M.Phil in Commerce, and a Master of Applied Finance from the University of Western Sydney, Australia. My academic journey includes securing a rank in M.Sc Economics and developing strong expertise in econometrics, financial markets, and consumption studies.
My research focuses on household consumption patterns, socio-economic determinants of expenditure, sustainable health financing, gender studies, and behavioural economics. I have authored several textbooks with Himalaya Publishing House and published 50+ research papers in UGC CARE, Scopus-indexed, and international journals. I have also presented widely at national and international conferences.
I serve on the editorial boards of multiple peer-reviewed journals and have received recognitions including the Outstanding Woman Researcher Award (2025) and the Best Research Paper Award (2020, 2021).
I am actively involved in projects analyzing COVID-19’s impact on household expenditure in Maharashtra, contributing extensively to CPHS-based empirical research.
