Prof. (Dr.) Arvind Dewangan is Dean, Research & Development at Global Group of Institutes, Amritsar (NAAC “A+”, Autonomous), a position he has held since July 2025. A geologist and civil engineering academician, he holds a B.Sc. (Geology), an M.Tech. (Applied Geology) and a PGDCA. His Ph.D. was awarded in 2011 by Dr. H.S. Gour University, Sagar, for research on a new genetic type of copper sulphide zone in the Ingaldhal (Chitradurga, Karnataka) sulphide zone.He has about 31 years of experience: 26 in teaching, nearly 5 in industry as a geo-hydrologist, and 2 as Director of Yogananda College of Engineering & Technology, Jammu. He has served as Professor and HOD (Civil Engineering) at Model Institute of Engineering & Technology, Jammu, Jodhpur Institute of Engineering & Technology, and Haryana College of Technology & Management, Kaithal. At Kaithal he established the Civil Engineering Department, introduced the M.Tech. in Construction Technology & Management at Kurukshetra University, and helped the program secure accreditation. At MIET Jammu he designed the complete B.E. (Civil Engineering) curriculum for the autonomous institute.He has authored over 170 publications, including 26 indexed in Scopus, and has supervised 3 Ph.D. scholars, 46 M.Tech. theses and 113 B.Tech. project groups. His IP portfolio includes a filed and granted utility patent on detecting building plan violations, registered design patents and copyrights Registrations/Patents. He has completed funded projects from AICTE, RTU, MIER and others, along with consultancy for Jindal Steel & Power Ltd. and AGN Infrastructure. He received the Eminent Educationist Award in 2015, Nation Builder award in Sept.2026 by Rotary club Amritsar Cantt. and Best Teacher Award by ISTE Ludhiana in Oct. 2026.
