Dr. Nene Favour Kalu Obasi is an esteemed information scientist, educator, and Lecturer II in the Department of Library and Information Science at Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU). She holds a Ph.D. in Information Science from the University of Uyo, a Master of Library and Information Science (MLS) from Imo State University, and a B.Sc. in Education Library Science from Abia State University. With nearly three decades of progressive experience across top-tier Nigerian polytechnics and universities, Dr. Obasi has held foundational administrative roles, including Head of both the Reference and Circulation Departments at Abia State Polytechnic. At MOUAU, she actively shapes the next generation of professionals as the Coordinator for Undergraduate Seminar & Project Research and as a dedicated 400-Level Academic Adviser.
Dr. Obasi’s primary research footprint lies at the vital intersections of digital information literacy, open-access scholarly publishing, and cognitive user behaviors. A widely published author and a certified professional across multiple governing boards—holding elite credentials with the Teachers’ Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) and the Librarians’ Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN)—she frequently presents her empirical findings at national NALISE and NLA conferences.
