Al Jamal Mustafa Shindaini is an Assistant Professor of the Department of Sociology at Bangladesh University of Professionals and a PhD research fellow of the Center for Higher Studies and Research at BUP. He has completed his Bachelor of Social Science (BSS Hons) and Master of Social Science (MSS) from the University of Dhaka. He also did his MPhil at the University of Dhaka. In 11 years of his academic career, he taught in the Bangladesh University of Professionals, Northern University Bangladesh, BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) and Bangladesh University of Business and Technologies (BUBT). He has published over fifteen peer-reviewed scientific articles in national and international journals about COVID-19 and mental health, natural disaster, gender violence, climate change, feminist perspective and health. He is also a popular contributor as an academician in daily newspapers i.e. The Business Standard and The Daily Sun. Currently, he is working on disaster and women resilience, migration and diaspora, Juvenile Delinquency, stratification, and inequality, Rohingya crisis from a sociological perspective. He has written the books The Role of Zakah in Poverty Alleviation in Bangladesh and The Changing Occupational Patterns in Rural Bangladesh. A/P Shindaini teaches Research Methodology in Development Studies, Society and Culture in changing landscape (Masters Level), Foundation of Social Research, Social History and Civilizations, Introduction to Sociology, Bangladesh Studies, Social Psychology, Gender and Society, Economy and Society, Social Stratification and Inequality, Urban Sociology, Sociology of Migration and Diaspora etc. He supervised above 70 students [Masters and Hons] of Sociology and Development Studies.
