Malina Zulkifli, a senior lecturer at the School of Quantitative Sciences, UUM. She completed her Bachelor from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in 2000 and Master of Science (Applied Statistics) from Universiti Putra Malaysia in 2001. In 2016, she completed her PhD in Statistics from the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.
She started her career as an academic as early as 2000 as a tutor at School of Quantitative Sciences, UUM until now and has been teaching numerous undergraduate and postgraduate courses since then. She is a very dedicated person, therefore hse was trusted to hold the position of Program Chair of the Industrial Statistics program, Head of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics and Deputy Dean of Student and Alumni Development since 2019 to May 2023.
Her research area focuses on crime analysis, index development and statistical modeling. In addition, she has also led several research grants titled ‘Mapping Property Crime Locations Based on Weighted Multicriteria Index for Districts in Peninsular Malaysia’, ‘Developing Index and Modelling the Criteria of Zakat Recipient in Kedah’, ‘Robust High Breakdown Correlation Coefficients Based On Reweighted Approach’, ‘I’M STEM Teachers & I’M HOTS: Holistic Index for Meaningful Teaching Practices of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) in Secondary Schools’ and a few more.
