Graduate of the 3rd Cohort of the Doctoral School of the University of Burundi, Jean François Régis Sindayihebura hold a PhD Degree in Demography. He works as a full-time lecturer-researcher at the University of Burundi, attached to the Department of Geographic, Environment and Population Sciences. He holds at the basis a Professional Master’s Degree in Demography from the Institute of Training and Demographic Research (Institut de Formation et de Recherche Démographiques – IFORD of the University of Yaounde II). He has a more than five years professional experience in collecting and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data, Project Monitoring and Evaluation, etc. He is the author of publications on maternal health (anaemia in women of childbearing age) and family planning (intention to use modern contraception), published in international journals. He is also interested in urban demography (access to housing, hygiene and sanitation as related to population characteristics). He has already worked on Burundi, but his ambitions extend to the regional level of the East African Community, COMESA, ECCAS, Sub-Saharan Africa, etc.
