Dr. Joylyn Sumugat Gamiao is a Filipino academic, researcher, and higher education administrator specializing in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, and Tourism. She holds a Doctor in Business Administration from the University of Mindanao, with a dissertation on the structural equation modeling of employee engagement in restaurants in Region XII, as well as a Master in Business Administration from the University of the Visayas and a Master of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management from the Philippine Women’s University. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management, graduating Cum Laude, from Mindanao State University. She currently serves as an Associate Professor V at Sultan Kudarat State University (SKSU), where she has held various academic and administrative positions, including Dean of the College of Business Administration and Hospitality Management and Program Chairperson for Hospitality and Hotel and Restaurant Management programs. Her extensive administrative experience also includes instructional materials development, monitoring and evaluation, hospitality and tourism subject specialization, job-enabling English programs, and campus hotel management.Dr. Gamiao’s research and professional interests encompass hospitality management, restaurant management, human resource management, employee engagement, organizational behavior, job satisfaction, employability, work performance, food safety, and entrepreneurship. Her scholarly work includes research on employee engagement in restaurants, organizational honesty and cultural integrity, human resource management practices, job satisfaction among medium enterprise employees, employability and work performance of hospitality students, and food safety practices in restaurants. She has also contributed to applied innovation through registered utility models involving cassava-based food products and Batuan seasoning powder. Her experience as a research journal reviewer and graduate school faculty member further strengthens her academic contribution.
