Dr. Peters Kalu is a Nigerian political scientist, public administration scholar, and Senior Lecturer at UNIZIK Business School, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. Born in Umuahia in 1972 and hailing from Elu-Ohafia, Abia State, he holds a Ph.D. in Public Administration (Development Administration) and a PGD in Economics from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, an M.Sc. in Political Science from Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, and both an MPA (Financial Management) and B.Sc. in Political Science from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Prior to joining UNIZIK Business School in 2020—where he serves as Coordinator of ICT and Corporate Communication—he accumulated over a decade of administrative and academic leadership at Abia State Polytechnic, including tenures as Head of the Department of Public Administration, Polytechnic Public Orator, and Executive Director of the Abia State Polytechnic Press.Dr. Kalu’s research spans development administration, governance, energy economics, local government finance, gender studies, and human capital management. A prolific academic, he has authored and edited 5 books, contributed to 11 book chapters, and published nearly 30 peer-reviewed journal articles. He serves as Editor of the UBS Journal of Business and Economic Policy and holds editorial reviewer positions for multiple international journals, including the African Journal of Development Studies. Beyond academia, Dr. Kalu is a Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants-Nigeria, a CODESRIA Laureate, an active Rotarian with extensive district leadership experience, and an industry consultant with background in executive administrative management.
