Ts. Dr. Yee Mei Heong is a senior lecturer in the Department of Engineering Education (JPK) at the Faculty of Technical and Vocational Education, Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM). She obtained her first degree, the Bachelor of Technology with Education, from the Faculty of Education, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in 2002. In 2004, she completed her master’s degree in Technical and Vocational Education at the same university. She received her doctorate degree, the Doctor of Philosophy of Technical and Vocational Education, from Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia in 2015. She has teaching experience as a Graduate Service Officer at MARA Junior Science College, Gerik, Perak, for 3 years and as a senior lecturer at UTHM for 12 years. She has been the head of program for the Doctor of Philosophy in Education since 2014. She also held the position of chair of the lab in 2014–2016. Currently Principal Researcher in Sustainable Professional Education for Excellent Development (CoR-SPEED). Affiliate Researcher in Malaysia Institute for Vocational Education and Training (MyRIVET). Actively involved in research, publication, and academic program advisor. Her academic expertise includes problem-solving skills, higher order thinking skills, learning styles, teaching styles, modular approaches to teaching and learning, 21st learning skills and approaches. She is also a TRIZ Level 1 instructor, a professional technologist under the Malaysian Board of Technologists (MBOT), a member of Malaysian Design Council (MRM) and a member of Malaysian Technical and Vocational Education Association. She has published over 157 journal articles/teaching modules/books/book chapters in her area of expertise. She also supervises postgraduate students, undergraduate, teaching practicum, industrial training and also appointed as trainer from various universities and institutions.
