Biography
Dr. Silas Ankiabum Ngong is a Cameroonian academic, scholar, leadership educator, and peacebuilding practitioner who currently serves as the Dean of Academic Affairs at International Leadership University (ILU), Cameroon, where he has held leadership and teaching roles since 2019. He holds a Ph.D. in Peace Studies from the International Graduate School of Leadership, Manila, Philippines (2025), as well as a Master of Arts in Leadership Studies, a Master of Divinity in Leadership Studies, and a B.Sc. in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of Buea, Cameroon. He is also pursuing a Master of Science in Sports Psychology at Tech Global University, Andorra. His academic and professional interests encompass peace studies, leadership development, financial flourishing, sports chaplaincy, communication, and community development. He has served as a visiting lecturer at the Cameroon Baptist Theological Seminary (CBTS), Kumba, and as a supervisor of master’s theses at ILU Cameroon, CBTS Kumba, and ILU Kenya. He has also served as a Ph.D. thesis examiner at the International Graduate School of Leadership in Manila.Dr. Ngong is actively involved in sports chaplaincy, leadership development, peacebuilding, and Christian ministry, serving as a Global Athletes in Action Sports Chaplaincy leader since 2022. He has participated in numerous professional and leadership training programmes, including international sports chaplaincy leadership, military chaplaincy, peacebuilding and community development, curriculum development, leadership training, and national coaching programmes. His scholarly work includes research on financial flourishing, stewardship, and peace among Christian ministers in Cameroon. His doctoral thesis, “From Scarcity to Stewardship: A Phenomenological Investigation of Financial Flourishing and Peace among Support-Based Ministers in Cameroon,” was published through SSRN, while his research on financial flourishing in Christian ministries in Cameroon was published in 2026. With strong competencies in communication, teaching, critical thinking, problem-solving, peacebuilding, leadership development, team building, preaching, evangelism, and discipleship, Dr. Ngong contributes to academic leadership, theological education, and the development of leaders and communities in Cameroon and beyond.
