Jamila Sulaiman is a Nigerian English Education scholar, teacher educator, lecturer, and academic professional at the College of Education, Billiri, Gombe State, where she has served as a Lecturer since 2015. She holds a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in English Education from the University of Jos and a Bachelor of Arts in Education (B.A.Ed.) in English from Gombe State University, in addition to professional training in computer applications and teacher development. Her academic and professional experience spans English language teaching, teacher education, curriculum and instructional development, and educational administration. She has served in various educational roles, including with the Gombe State Ministry of Education and as a teacher of English Language and Social Studies. She is a registered member of the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) and Women in Colleges of Education (WICE), and has held several institutional leadership and committee positions, including Chair of the School of Languages Timetable Committee, Secretary of the College Central Timetable Committee, and member of the Institution-Based Research Committee.Sulaiman’s research and professional interests focus on English Language Education, Language Teaching and Learning, Literacy Education, Teacher Education, Educational Development, and Research in Education. Her publications address the role of English language in economic development, the implications of insurgency on education in Nigeria, and the effects of instructional approaches on spelling and punctuation in students’ composition writing. She has extensive experience as a facilitator, master trainer, supervisor, and monitor in USAID/American University of Nigeria’s Strengthening Education in North East Nigeria (SENSE) Project, particularly in early-grade reading, supplementary readers, teaching and learning materials, teacher training, and Mu Karanta literacy initiatives. She has also contributed to psychosocial support training for teachers and participated in numerous professional conferences, research seminars, and capacity-development programmes.
