Youness CHAWKI was born in Tinghir, Morocco in 1985. He received the PhD in Computer Sciences, Image processing and Computer Vision in 2016 from Moulay Ismail University (MIU), Faculty of Sciences and Techniques Errachidia (FSTE), Morocco. Prior to getting his Ph.D., he had obtained a Maitrise’s Degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Automatic from FSTE, followed by a Master’s Degree in Instrumentation & Telecommunications from Ibn Zohr University (IZU), Faculty of Sciences of Agadir (FSA), Morocco. He worked as Professor at Computer Sciences Department at the Polydisciplinary Faculty of Ouarzazate, Morocco, where he was responsible for designing, developing, and delivering a range of programs of study, to ensure the proper and efficient transfer of knowledge, developing and sustaining innovative approaches to course design and delivery. His research interests include language and speech recognition, image segmentation/compression and retrieval, pattern recognition and Computer vision/ Machine Learning/Deep Learning.
