DR. GILBERT ARAP BOR – BRIEF BIO
Dr. Gilbert arap Bor is an accomplished and skilled educator, farmer, researcher, and agribusiness/training consultant. He is currently a Marketing and Management Lecturer at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa’s Gaba Campus in Eldoret, where he has taught for the last 14 years. Dr. Bor holds a Doctoral degree in Business Management (Marketing) from Moi University (2015), an MSc in International Community Economic Development (Micro-Enterprise Development) from the University of Southern New Hampshire, USA (2007), and Bachelor of Business Management from Moi University, Eldoret (2006).
Dr. Bor believes that the sure strategy for agricultural productivity, poverty reduction and food security/nutrition in the developing countries is that which addresses improved farmer education, climate change information and mechanization/digitalization for smallholders. He is also a strong believer in the development of strategies, policies, and tools to attract youth to agriculture to reduce the rising average age for farmers/. These must deal with sustainable environmental management to combat climate change and other environmental concerns and linked to food and nutrition security and rural development.
Being a dairy farmer raised on the farm, he has extensive hands-on dairy herd management, dairy products value addition and marketing/entrepreneurship.
