Dr. Maine Suadik is an accomplished environmental sociologist, academic administrator, and senior lecturer within the Sociology and Social Anthropology Program at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS). An indigenous Kadazan scholar originally from Kota Belud, she has built a distinguished career at UMS spanning over two decades of research and teaching, previously serving as the Head of the Sociology & Social Anthropology Program and as an academic coordinator for national volunteer initiatives. Dr. Suadik holds a Bachelor of Development Science from the National University of Malaysia (UKM) and a Masters by Research in Sociology and Anthropology from UMS. She earned her Ph.D. in Environmental Sociology from the Faculty of Arts, Design & Architecture at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in Sydney, Australia, where her doctoral work investigated the political ecology of indigenous food security across Malaysian Borneo.
