Dr. Sonkey Louis Ntu is an accomplished agricultural economist, econometrician, and university educator currently serving as a Lecturer in the Department of Agribusiness within the School of Agriculture and Food Science at Njala University in Sierra Leone. He holds an Undergraduate Teacher’s Diploma in Economics, a Bachelor of Science in Public Policy and Human Resource Management from the University of Dschang, and a Master of Science in Economics. Dr. Sonkey completed his terminal credentials with a Ph.D. in Agribusiness Project Management from the University of Bamenda, Cameroon, where his doctoral research focused on the complex interplay between financial institutions and youth engagement in agricultural entrepreneurship. Prior to his current appointment at Njala University, he served as a Part-time Lecturer and Tutorial Master across the Departments of Economics and Agribusiness Technology at the University of Bamenda. His broad instructional portfolio spans over fifteen distinct disciplines, including Econometrics, Agribusiness Finance, Quantitative Methods, and Public Finance. A specialist in advanced digital analytics, Dr. Sonkey routinely integrates sophisticated data tools such as SPSS, STATA, Eviews, R, and SmartPLS into his scholastic and pedagogical frameworks.A highly published researcher and author, Dr. Sonkey has extensively contributed to global literature regarding structural equation modeling (SEM), macroeconomic policy indicators, and rural development frameworks. His research portfolio includes two published books—Secrets of Successful People and Dealing with Academic Failures—alongside a large collection of peer-reviewed articles addressing fiscal policy outcomes, the long-term impacts of regional infrastructure on community well-being, and foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows. Beyond research and active journal review for international platforms like Taylor & Francis’s Journal of Community Development, Dr. Sonkey brings over a decade of practical experience in field operations and project architecture. He previously served as the Rural Projects Coordinator and Proposal Grant Writer for the Navigators of Cameroon, where he successfully engineered and managed five complex rural agricultural community development initiatives and trained institutional stakeholders using the Logical Framework Approach.
