Nkiruka A. Ofoedu is an accomplished professional librarian, researcher, and educator based at the Festus Aghagbo Nwakor Library at Nnamdi Azikiwe University (NAU) in Awka, Nigeria. Bridging quantitative science with information management, she holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, a Post-Graduate Diploma, and a Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) from NAU, and is currently completing her Ph.D. in Library and Information Science at the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike. Her primary research fields include bibliometrics, citation analysis, collection development, and academic librarianship. A widely published scholar, Mrs. Ofoedu’s research focuses on the analytical mapping of scientific productivity, trend methodologies in academic research, and the optimization of core information resources within Sub-Saharan African higher education.
Certified by the Librarians’ Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN) and an active member of the Nigerian Library Association (NLA), Mrs. Ofoedu possesses extensive operational experience across university infrastructure and information units. She has successfully served as a Faculty Liaison Librarian for the Faculty of Social Sciences, Head of the Postgraduate E-Library and Institutional Repository Unit, and specialized Cataloguing Librarian. Her professional career within university systems includes a distinguished ten-year tenure as a Deputy Chief Security Officer (DCSO) at NAU, where she pioneered security and information management for the digital library. Beyond her institutional duties, she is a committed volunteer who translates and edits English encyclopedic content for Wikipedia Igbo and applies her mathematical expertise as an advisory volunteer for the Mathematics World of Excellence, driving campaigns to simplify STEM education for secondary and tertiary students.
