Biography
Ms. Abigail Adwoa Anooh Hagan is an experienced university administrator and strategic communication professional at the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT), Ghana, with extensive experience in faculty administration, strategic communication, public administration, technical communication, academic quality assurance, stakeholder engagement, and institutional management. She holds a Master of Philosophy in Strategic Communication from the University of Education, Winneba, a Master of Arts in Communication and Media Studies with a specialization in Business Communication, a Commonwealth Executive Master in Public Administration from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, and a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Psychology with Sociology from the University of Ghana.She currently serves as an Assistant Registrar and Head of Faculty Administration in the Faculty of Engineering at UMaT, where she manages administrative operations, coordinates Faculty Board meetings, prepares institutional reports and correspondence, supports recruitment and promotion processes, handles academic records, and engages with students, alumni, stakeholders, and international assessment agencies. Her previous roles at UMaT include Junior Assistant Registrar, Principal Administrative Assistant in the Department of Technical Communication and Department of Mathematical Sciences, Acting Faculty Officer, and Senior Administrative Assistant in the Office of the Finance Officer. Earlier in her career, she worked as a teacher and Community Consultations Officer in the mining sector, where she gained valuable experience in community relations, stakeholder consultation, environmental assessment, complaint management, research, corporate-community engagement, and development projects. Her broad professional background combines strategic communication, higher education administration, community engagement, public administration, and organizational coordination, supported by strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
