Joseph Ghartey Ampiah is a former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast, Ghana (2016-2020). He holds a PhD in Science Education and is Professor of Science Education. His interests are in research in education, especially at the primary, secondary school level and teacher education. He led the DID-funded CREATE project to research into educational access , transition and equity in Ghana from 2006-2011. He has worked on many international projects with researchers from Africa, Japan, the Netherlands, United Kingdom and the United States of America.
