Darshan P. Joshi is an accomplished civil engineer, transportation specialist, and academician with a versatile decade-long career spanning public infrastructure management, site operations, and higher education. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering and a Master of Engineering in Transportation Engineering from Gujarat Technological University, where his postgraduate research pioneered the analysis of warm mix additives on bituminous mix performance. Since 2016, Mr. Joshi has served as an Assistant Professor at Atmiya University, instructing and mentoring the next generation of engineers in advanced structural performance and transportation frameworks. His deep practical expertise is backed by a robust operational background, including key tenures as an Assistant Engineer for the Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam Ltd. and as a structural Site Supervisor. Notably, he has also collaborated with the Airports Authority of India (AAI) at Rajkot Airport, delivering critical engineering recommendations and high-level safety assessments for runway resurfacing projects.A forward-thinking innovator and active researcher, Mr. Joshi focuses his scholarly work on sustainable pavement engineering, smart city logistics, and the integration of artificial intelligence into public safety infrastructure. His published research spans major domains within civil engineering, including utilizing industrial by-products to enhance flexible pavements, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for road hazard identification, and the performance evaluation of Bus Rapid Transit Systems (BRTS) in smart cities. Translating his theoretical insights into proprietary technology, Mr. Joshi holds registered designs for cutting-edge, tech-driven civil infrastructure tools, including an AI-based concrete rebound hammer and an AI-based traffic cone featuring integrated GPS and LED alerts.
